My name is Mike Henderson and I live in Farmington, Utah.
I am a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, but for as long as I can remember, except for these labels, I’ve resisted using labels to describe myself and have never had the urge to align myself with any cause, or political party or religion to such a degree as to legitimately affix their label to me. Others may have for me, but I have not. I’ve never registered as a Democrat, or a Republican, or an Independent or even a Libertarian, Socialist or Communist, for that matter, although I can relate to and agree with certain aspects of all of these political and economic philosophies. I’m not a Christian or a Buddhist, Taoist, follower of Islam, or a Pagan, or Hindu, but I am a Spiritualist and I do find truth in all of the World’s religions. I’m not a conservative or a liberal, a libertarian, a socialist or a fascist, but I guess that I am a Compassionate Capitalist.
Professionally, I’m responsible for manufacturing, supply chain management, product engineering, and servicing of a portfolio of medical devices that are distributed in 67 countries throughout the World used in the delivery of medication and clinical nutrition. I’m responsible for manufacturing plants here in the United States, Costa Rica, and Lithuania. I mention this only because this experience, of working with peoples and governments and businesses from around the Globe, coupled with my personal and spiritual journey with my wife, Kelly, have coalesced to illuminate a path for me to work with other people to encourage responsible corporate citizenship, to become better and more responsible consumers, and to look beyond our own self-interests and seek social justice for the disenfranchised and exploited people of this planet.
